It depends on what you want from your dancing. Everyone has
different levels of natural ability and desire to learn. There are
also considerations such as number of dances and desired level of
accomplishment. Most people can dance to music within their first few
lessons and feel relatively at ease in social situations within
several months.
Who Takes Lessons?
People of literally every occupation and age take dance lessons with or without a partner.
How Are Lessons Taught?
There are two types of instruction - private and group.
Private Lessons offer personalized instruction for couples or singles. Students focus on the types of dances and skill level that fits their personal goals.
Group Lessons offer greater economy and variety of people while covering the basics of several dances in a class setting.

Dance Easy uses an ala carte format for instruction. You pick and
choose what works best for you. There are no contracts or lesson
packages. You do not have to work on dances that are not of interest
to you. Although some people prefer volume discounts, most people pay
lesson-by-lesson or for one group series of four.
Most people use either type of instruction, private or group, as
their primary method of learning. Many choose to combine both types
in some form. Private lessons are 60 minutes, but can be
30-or-45-minutes. Groups are in a series of (4) 60-minute
classes.
For example: A wedding couple may take the Dancing for Social
Occasions class and take a few private lessons to work on the song
they will dance to at their wedding. A single person may prefer
private lessons and enroll in groups to meet more people and dance
with others. Couples may be too busy to attend all the groups in a
series, but do not want to pay hundreds of dollars for private
lessons. They can take two, 30-minute private lessons in a month and
accomplish as much or more than a group series.
Confused? Just know Dance Easy is flexible. We are a service
organization, not a sales organization. We want you to learn to dance
to the level you want to and have fun doing it. Your instructor will
advise you as to what types of instruction or combinations would best
suit your situation.
