About the Dances We Teach
Dance Easy has a unique style of teaching by relating dances in three basic groups. While you may want to know the specifics of a certain dance, most often when one is first learning, there is a specific reason for learning to dance, such as an upcoming wedding. In those situations, you don't need to know what the dance is. You just need to know what you can do to the music being played and how you can look pretty good doing it. Of course what you are learning are real partner dances. In the beginning, the goal is more to get you out having fun dancing. As your interest grows, you can learn more of the specifics of each dance.
The type of dances we teach are partner dances people might use at weddings, clubs, parties, on cruises or any place people dance. Some have familiar names such as waltz, rumba, cha-cha, tango, fox trot, swing, salsa, merengue, mambo and samba to name a few. Others refer to dances by style such as freestyle or Latin, or the type of music such as country, jazz or blues.
Looks like a lot! Not really. The dances relate to one another. So when you learn one dance, you may be well on your way to learning another without even trying. Besides, you choose what dances you want to learn. You can learn a few or learn them all!
Remember, if you can walk. . . You can dance!
