Learning how to dance at a wedding most important to you!Perhaps one of the most important and memorable days of your life is your wedding day. The wedding and the reception usually go pretty smoothly. The one part of the wedding day that is often uncomfortable for some guests and members of the bridal party is ...

the dancing!

It's traditional for the bride and groom and perhaps the parents or members of the wedding party to dance. The bride and groom in particular usually dance to a special song by themselves. If you're used to dancing, no problem. If this is a new or previously uncomfortable situation for you, this could be the most dreaded part of your wedding day. It doesn't have to be.

So you have two left feet and no rhythm. Most people are more natural dancers than they think. They just haven't learned what to listen for in the music or have little structure to their movements. With a little understanding of the basics of directional movement, exposure to different kinds of music and a little practice, anyone can learn to dance. Everyone has different levels of comfort and natural ability. Some people require more time than others, but anyone can learn a few basics.

Some people want just the basics so they can as they say, "get through" their wedding. Many couples would like some basics in slow and fast dancing with a partner. The most common concern expressed by couples is that they don't want to "look stupid" on the dance floor. The best instructional options for these couples are private lessons, group classes, shared private lessons or specialty groups. Be sure to check out our specials for the best value for your dancing dollar!

Other people want the basics and more. They want to learn some of the traditional ballroom dances such as the waltz or jitterbug. They want to learn for their wedding, but they also want to do something fun together that they can do a lifetime.

The Bride and Groom Liven Up The Dance Floor!

Beautiful, Aren't They?

Learning to dance so you look great at your wedding doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming.  Most couples just want a few lessons so they can look good doing a few basic moves.  They tell me they want to do more than the "hug and rock."  Together, we listen to the song, find which steps work best and a rhythm that's comfortable.  For some, we might add a little flare-- some turns, maybe a dip or a move with a little more flash.  Most couples take 3-5 hours of instruction, but a single lesson may be enough.  Some couples want a more polished routine and may take up to a year perfecting their wedding dance.  My job is to help couples clarify what they want to do, make it work within their schedule and budget and get them to a place where they feel more comfortable and confident dancing to their special song.
